Reflecting on a summer of small batch making, precision tolerance, and building gear meant to last.

As August draws to a close and we shift into September, taking time to review a full season of workshop production offers invaluable perspective. Reflecting on our summer output is one of the best ways to sharpen overall design discipline and refine our daily processes. Over the last few months, the bench has seen a steady stream of small-batch builds, each engineered with a specific purpose and crafted to take on a rich lifetime of patina.

Looking back, our work spanned everything from daily essential carry to custom lifestyle accessories.

We made limited production runs on our core everyday carry items like the Classic Bifold and EDC Starter, ensuring our go-to products remained as sharp as ever. Alongside those daily carries, we expanded into dedicated workspace and utility gear. We crafted rich leather Essential Deskpads, custom Trusco metal toolbox inserts, cast iron Pan Handle Sleeves, and heavy-duty Trivets designed to handle daily use without sacrificing aesthetic warmth.

Small-scale builds like the Tsubota wraps were a highlight of the season. Wrapping raw, rigid brass with soft vegetable-tanned leather leaves zero margin for error. Every edge required precise hand creasing and an exact cross stitch pattern to ensure the leather sits completely flush against the metal casing, feeling like a natural extension of the lighter itself.

The lessons from these summer builds directly inform our planning for the months ahead. As we enter September, we are finalizing fresh custom designs while prepping dedicated production runs for our core lineup.
